Mitch Laurence [userpic]

Musings and a lunch meeting (Open to Prue and uninvited mystery guest)

July 2nd, 2006 (10:52 pm)

Mitch was quite pleased with himself. The recruiting was off to a slow start, but he'd met a few interesting people. He folded the envelope Miss Jacks had left and returned it to his bible. The check had already been cashed and he hoped to get a chance to thank the young lady for her donation.

He'd been in touch with another young woman, Miss Prudence Halliwell. She also had experience with returning from the dead. The details weren't known to him as of yet, but he was looking forward to listening and sharing his own story. Mitch had extended a lunch invite to Prue and she'd graciously accepted. He hoped she didn't mind sandwiches and macaroni salad. Catered meals were still beyond his budget.

As Mitch waited for her to arrive, he set out a pitcher of iced tea and tidied up the main room of his makeshift church. He popped a compilation CD of hits from the 80's into the boombox and set the volume low. He couldn't help but hum a long as he finished setting the table.

Prue adjusted her black skirt and tried to make her hair look decent. These days that took nothing short of a miracle. She chuckled a little when she heard the music cming from the room in front of her. <i>80's music><i/i> she mused silently. Prue squared her shoulders and walked into the room.

"Hello" Prue greeted Mitch brightly. "Thank you so much for inviting me today"

Mitch looked up from the pamphlets he'd been arranging as the front door opened. He smiled and strode across the room. "Miss Halliwell." He offered his hand. "I'm so glad you could make it. Please make yourself at home."

He motioned toward the table he'd set up on the far side of the room. "Would you care for a glass of iced tea before we sit down for lunch?"

Prue smiled appreciatvely, "Thank you-that would be nice." She followed Mitch over to the table. "It was very nice of you to invite me today. Thank you very much."

Mitch smiled back at the young woman. When he reached the table, he was glad to see she'd followed. He started to pour her a glass of iced tea. "Miss Halliwell, you're like a ray of sunshine." He paused wondering if he was overdoing it. "I've been looking forward to hearing more about you."

He garnished the glass with a lemon slice and held it out to Prue.

can you see me?

Before Prue could accept the glass of tea, it was knocked from Mitch's hand by an unseen force. The glass fell to the ground. Glass shards and liquid covering both Mitch and Prue.

"What in the hell?" Prue screamed and looked over at Mitch. "What in the hell just happened?" Prue took a step back away from her host and without meaning- due to her anger and frusteration the C.D. player Mitch set up flew across the room. Her hand flew to her mouth and she gasped. She just did magic in front of Mitch and the whoever else was in the room.

"I-uh-I" Prue stuttered. "Were not alone in here"

Mitch thought he had a secure grip on the glass and stared in confusion as it flew from his hand. He wanted to write it off as an accident, but the glass felt as if it had been grabbed violently from him. "Excuse my clumsiness, Miss Halliwell." Of course he couldn't let the young lady feel as if there were something amiss.

When the CD player crashed against a wall, Mitch couldn't hide his shock. He stared at Prue, eyes wide. "Pardon my language, but what the heck was that?"
He glanced around the room before eyeing her again. "And what do you mean we're not alone?"

angry

Prue looked around, she had a feeling. She felt like it might be a ghost. But usually witches could see ghost- especially witches who had been dead. Prue looked at the C.D player. "I have no idea what i am talking about" Prue lied. "I guess I am just frightened"

She kept looking around hoping to see the ghost. Maybe Mitch was an innocent she had to save?

Sam had been trying to mess with Mitch and felt somewhat bad for scaring the young lady. He knew all about the special iced tea and was looking after her safety by knocking the glass from Mitch's hand before she could drink it. He wondered why she was looking around like that. It was almost as if she could sense him.

Sam moved closer to her, still unsure of how to make the living see him. Would she notice him?

She knew there was a spell to see the dead. She shouldn't need a spell to see a ghost or a demon but maybe she was out of practice.

There was spell to the see the unseen. If she tweaked it might work. Prue suddenly remembered it and started so Mitch didn't hear. He might be an innocent. She might have to save him. Good thing she knew a spell to vanquish ghosts- just in case.

"In this time, in this hour
I call upon the sacred power
I myself stand alone
command the unseen to be shown
in innocence I search the skies,
enchanted are my new found eyes"

Prue opened her eyes and gasped she could see him. He didn't seem evil though. "Who are you?"
Prue hissed hoping Mitch wasn't listening.

can you see me?

Sam couldn't believe it. The woman seemed to be addressing him directly.

"Can you see me?" Sam asked, wondering about her tone. Had he frightened her? He tried to appear non-threatening, as much as he could. That might not be easy, since his ghostly form was dressed in a white suit with multiple blood stains where he'd been shot.

"I won't hurt you, promise." Sam eyed the woman with hope. If she could see him then maybe she could help him as well.

Mitch eyed Prue curiously as she muttered something under her breath. "What was that, Miss Halliwell?" Things got even odder from there. His brow furrowed, Mitch stared at the thin air she was talking to.

"Who is who?" He asked, wondering if there was something wrong with her. Perhaps she felt ill? "Are you alright?"

Prue looked at the ghost and then to Mitch. "I am fine" she said. She hadd to distract Mitch so she squinted her eyes and threw threw the glass pitcher of tea onto the ground.

She turned back to Ghost, "Who are you?" she hissed again. "I can and will vanquish you if I must?"
